Race Tip

CENTURION STEEL may be able to make a winning start over racecourse fences. The Kayf Tara gelding should arrive here in good fettle after shedding his maiden tag at Downpatrick four weeks ago. Previous to that he'd run okay at this venue when second behind a dominant front-running Ballyadam Destiny. Perhaps the selection wasn't mature enough to do himself justice when running in a point-to-point as a four-year-old for Colin Bowe. However, the experience picked up then should be helpful, and of course Centurion Steel hails from a yard famed for the jumping prowess of its chase runners. A half-brother to the useful Willie Mullins performer Royal Rendezvous, the De Bromhead horse is preferred to The Great White, Gelee Blanche, Elegant Dan and company.
