Race Tip

ASH TREE MEADOW is a progressive horse who can go in again. He was a comfortable winner of a big field maiden hurdle at Navan last month and that followed up on a creditable third place behind subsequent Grade One winner Sir Gerhard at Leopardstown over Christmas. He is less exposed in this discipline than his three rivals. The Little Yank is one of two John Ryan representatives and has been highly tried since his latest victory in a rated novice hurdle at Sligo in August. There was a lot to like about his staying-on third in a Grade B handicap hurdle over 3m at last weekend's Dublin Racing Festival. If that race hasn't left its mark, he should be a player. Il Courra won his maiden hurdle over a similar trip at Kilbeggan in September and is far from out of it.
