Race Tip

A very tricky race. There is no doubt that the more it rains the better it suits the 107-rated Jason The Militant who was last seen winning a Listed race on heavy ground at Naas in October. He does have the lay-off to overcome, and has to give weight away to the field, but is a player. A chance is taken on YAXENI as she ticks a lot of boxes. She has a Listed success over a similar trip and will welcome the forecast rain. Her runner-up finish when beaten by a neck in the Group 3 Munster Oaks at Cork reads particularly well. Paddy Twomey's stable is in red-hot form and his Beamish could be ready for this step up in class. He is two from two and handled soft ground when comfortably scoring over an extended 1m6f at Killarney last month. Startedwithakiss is on a roll after victories at this track and then in Leopardstown. Anchorage has been placed in a Group 3. He was fifth in the Group 2 Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot and is likely to improve upon that finish here.
