Race Tip

Talented hurdler JEFF KIDDER is clearly nothing like the same force on the Flat but might come forward enough from his run at Killarney in July to score here. On his first start since rounding off his rapid progression in the juvenile ranks with a Grade One victory at the Punchestown festival, the Hallowed Crown gelding could manage only seventh over 2m1f behind Great Bear. Coming back a bit in trip might help and he's down in grade in well. Several of these finished behind Dollar Value (due to run at Down Royal on Friday) here last weekend and, of those, Kalanoura might fare best having come from well off the pace to finish fourth. Clifftop was an excellent second in a competitive 2m4f handicap hurdle at Bellewstown but his stamina for this sort of trip on the Flat is open to question, while Clondaw Hollow was an easy winner of a maiden hurdle on Monday and may improve on previous Flat form.
