Race Tip

Illico Des Places was fancied to be very competitive on his UK debut when a well-beaten fifth at Kempton over the Christmas period after pulling way too hard in the early part of the contest. If settling better, he would command the utmost respect having been impressive when scoring at Chateaubriant in May. That said, the vote goes to DR T J ECKLEBURG, who ran with a fair amount of promise when runner-up at Newbury and that form has since been boosted by the winner of that race going on to place in a Grade 1. Imperial Sun was a useful handicapper for John and Thady Gosden on the Flat and has to be of interest on his hurdling bow for new connections.
