Race Tip

This race would have been the obvious next target for FAIRYHILL RUN after she just missed the cut for the Kerry National and it will be no little compensation if she lands the 48,000 Euros first prize. John Ryan's mare was seriously impressive in two wide-margin handicap victories during the summer and has won on both runs over fences at this venue. The fact that she would have been primed for last month's race is an obvious concern, but the stable's horses are notably tough and battle-hardened. Cheltenham Festival fourth Chatham Street Lad easily won a Grade 3 over course and distance when last seen in March and has enough class to go close under topweight, while the novice Cavalry Master is chasing a five-timer and has to be respected. Ontheropes was a very good second to Monkfish on his sole outing last season and could be on a nice mark for his handicap bow while A Wave Of The Sea wasn't beaten far in sixth in the aforementioned Listowel highlight and is another in the mix.
