Race Tip

STEPS IN THE SAND had little go right for her at Roscommon last time. The Sheila Lavery trained filly was badly bumped 2f but did well to regain her composure and get back in the race. However, try as she might, the daughter of Footstepsinthesand was unable to find a gap, only running on once the leaders had flown. The form has been franked in the interim and she looks well treated. Local trainer Richard O'Brien should make a bold bid with Surac, another who didn't enjoy the clearest of passages last time. The Frankel gelding kept on nicely once seeing daylight, so was value for finishing a bit closer. Alice Diamond showed definite promise at Cork but disappointed at Roscommon since. Perhaps the heavy ground was to blame for that below par effort.
