POINT LONSDALE was sent to post a short price for the Chesham Stakes and was a gutsy winner in testing conditions. The son of Australia hung left in the closing stages then but still had enough up his sleeve to get home by half a length from Reach For The Moon. The runner-up has been an impressive winner at Newbury since and it looked a good race with the front two pulling clear. Point Lonsdale had been very impressive on his debut at the Curragh and looks a top class prospect. He beat Unconquerable first time and it's hard to see that rival turning the tables. Maritime Wings won over a slightly shorter trip on his debut here last month and this looks a significant jump in class now.
