Race Tip

KING OF THE CASTLE showed promise on both maiden outings over a mile on testing ground last backend. The full-brother to last year's Derby hero Serpentine should relish this extra quarter mile and, with the prospect of further progress over the winter, could step up considerably on previous efforts on this much sounder surface. Southern Lights, purchased for 550,000 as a yearling at the Goffs Orby Sale and from the family of High Chaparral, won a barrier trial at Dundalk before just denied when well-backed on debut at Naas last autumn. Tazaral, a half-brother to Breeders Cup winner Tarnawa, Killaloan and the visored Entropy are three interesting newcomers to note.
