Race Tip

A beaten favourite last time, FEST DEIZ might be worth another chance, despite his top-weight impost. The main reason for rowing in behind Kieran Purcell's charge is that he drops back to what looks a more suitable two and a half miles. He patently failed to stay at Tipperary last time as he weakened from before two out in that three miler at the start of the month, and this distance looks better for him, as evidenced by two previous successes at the trip. At the other end of the handicap, Merry Poppins is very much respected, whilst the in-form Ray Hackett can have a say too, with his couple of representatives, Happy Jacky and Ghost Serge. First-time blinkers bring Swordsman into the mix for the back-on-song Denise Foster team. In an open event all told, Cusp Of Carabelli and Elite Charboniere are clearly not out of it either.
