Race Tip

APPLE CRUMBLE was a creditable second to The Dara Man on her hurdles debut at Ballinrobe and can take advantage of a massive pull in the weights with the winner. Not unfancied when winning a Punchestown bumper in May, the daughter of Getaway is no less than 29lb better off (including riders' claims) for a margin of five and a half lengths, with in-form conditional Jack Foley taking over in the saddle. The Dara Man is better than he showed last time at Galway and his stable remains in great form, but he's up against it with the selection on these terms. Raven Rule was set for victory when falling at the last in a handicap at Cork and has strong claims if none the worse for that mishap, while Ilmig has been a bit inconsistent but the form of his maiden win on his penultimate start has been boosted a couple of times. Course maiden winners Sicario and Wicklow Flyer face a stiffer task in this company.
