His form is in-and-out but his chase runs since Punchestown have been at left-handed tracks and he did well to finish seventh in the Paddy Power Chase, given his right-jumping tendencies. Interestingly, he defeated Eklat De Rire on level terms over hurdles in 2020 and today receives 18lb. Potentially high-class Eklat De Rire disappointed in the Ladbrokes Trophy and is on a retrieval mission, while Braeside (fourth in the Paddy Power) and Death Duty (fifth) have claims but might bump into a few too strong. Scarlet And Dove has been running well against smart mares but was beaten 17 lengths by Franco De Port last April.
