Race Tip

CULCOR looks the one to beat here. The Invincible Spirit colt has been placed twice from four starts this season and was runner-up on his latest outing at Killarney last month. He was no match for Start Line that day but it was another solid effort and off a mark of 79 he sets a decent standard in this. The others that have run look like they need to find a fair bit of improvement and his biggest danger may come from some of the newcomers. Johnny Murtagh has his string in fine form and Caravaggio gelding Grant Wood is one to note in the market. The grey cost 68,000 guineas as a yearling and is a half-brother to a couple of winners in France, out of a Listed placed mare. Vernotstoppen, trained by Eddie and Patrick Harty, is another interesting one on pedigree. The Es Que Love gelding is from a decent Canadian black-type family.
