Race Tip

BIG LEG UP won a hunter chase over C&D in fine style last spring and made a very encouraging reappearance in a 22-runner handicap at Navan. Conor Maxwell's mount made most of the running in that three-mile event and kept on to finish a creditable third behind the red-hot favourite Routine Excellence. He went off favourite subsequently in another big field handicap at Leopardstown but weakened quickly in the straight and was found to be distressed post-race. The lightly raced eight-year-old is given another chance. Lady McCabe is the obvious threat following impressive wins at Wexford and Tramore, although a combined rise of 18lb makes life more difficult. Trickey Trix was a soundly beaten third in that aforementioned Wexford race but is significantly better off now at the weights. Four Country Roads and School Lane are others to consider.
