Race Tip

Brentford Hope was touted as a live contender for the Derby following his maiden success at Newmarket in October 2019 but things didn't go to plan for him last season. The drop back to a mile at Haydock in October saw him in a much better light when cantering to victory but he needs to prove himself on a much sounder surface. Eastern World arrives having won a handicap at Meydan last month, which gave him the 5lb penalty required to get a run in this, and he appeals as the type to step forward on what he has achieved to date. The vote, however, goes to HAQEEQY as he boasts an unexposed profile, winning three of his five starts including here over 7f at the St Leger meeting, and the booking of Benoit De La Sayette, whose 7lb claim has proved to be hugely valuable over the winter, further enhances his claims. Others to note include Johan, who won a brace of handicaps last autumn, River Nymph and Danyah.
