Race Tip

Connections of ENERGUMENE have found a nice starting point for him, in a race his stablemate Chacun Pour Soi won last year. A muscle injury ruled the seven-year-old out of Cheltenham but either side of March, won two Grade 1s easily and looks the type to compete at a high level in open company. Bold-jumping Notebook is his danger, having himself won two Grade 1s as a novice chaser. He lacked a gear in the best two-mile chases last season but has a good race-fitness edge today, having won well at Navan last month. Cash Back was held in second by Chacun Pour Soi when falling at the last in this race last year and while it is encouraging to see him return at a good point of the National Hunt season, should struggle to win.
