Race Tip

SAYCE GOLD is lightly-raced but is a mature 8yo who could do well over fences. A late-developer, she was smart last season when connections toyed with the idea of going chasing and while she runs over a shorter-than-ideal trip on reappearance run, has point-to-point experience and meets suitably soft ground. Magic Daze is herself smart, having finished second in Cheltenham's mares' novice hurdle last season and is race-fit and has chase experience, having run at Galway last month. She is open to improvement from that run but SAYCE GOLD could be a formidable opponent. Chasing debutante Darrens Hope beat SAYCE GOLD 3.5L (when receiving 3lbs) at Limerick last March and while beaten over hurdles last month, Darrens Hope is possibly more inconvenienced by today's trip than SAYCE GOLD. Tucanae is capable but needs to improve on hurdles form.
