Race Tip

Chester regular GABRIAL THE WIRE finished a respectable fifth here a fortnight ago despite a wide draw. He did his best work towards the finish, so this slightly longer trip, coupled with a more favourable draw, could see Richard Fahey's gelding get his head back in front. The main danger could be Fieldsman, who will be tough to peg back if getting another easy lead after making all at Brighton off 5lb lower last month, while the consistent Carnival Zain can fill the places if getting luck in running from stall seven.
